Max Meyer was one of the first lawyers accredited as a Family Law Specialist in New South Wales.

He was admitted to practice in 1972, and before founding the firm of Meyer Pigdon with Suzanne Pigdon in 2000, was the partner in charge of the family law group at Marshall Marks Kennedy in Sydney for 11 years.

Max is a member of the New South Wales Law Society and a member of the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia. He is one of only 3 lawyers practising in New South Wales who has been elected as a Fellow of the elite International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.  He was the only Australian lawyer to be invited to contribute a chapter on Australian Family Law to an industry internationally recognised and distributed publication.

He has acted in major cases, including international financial disputes on marital breakdown, and other disputes for high profile and high net worth professional and business clients.  A number of his cases have established legal precedent.

He is the author of numerous articles on family law matters, and has given papers to professional groups. He was also the author of a newspaper column on family law issues in the Sunday Telegraph.  Max is frequently invited to present and chair seminars to the legal profession on family law topics.
